Prevention
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa infections are never pleasant and are always hard to treat. The best treatment plan is prevention. Thorough hygiene methods such as: hand washing and extensive cleaning of equipment can help prevent the spread of the bacteria in hospitals. Whilst the general public can avoid coming into contact with the P. Aeruginosa bacteria by steering clear of inadequately cleaned hot tubs and swimming pools; also showering after swimming can reduce the risk.
A universal treatment that will cure any strain of pseudomonas is being researched and tested, however as of yet, no sure cure has been able to be produced due to pseudomonas’s nature, to build an immunity to treatment. Until more research is done and a cure is found, preventing and minimizing the amount of people infected with the bacterium is of the highest importance.
